Can you Vote Please.

I didn't vote this year for the governor elections. The last time I voted was for our President Obama. I didn't vote this year because I just moved back to Connecticut from New Jersey two years ago. I don't know enough about the candidates to make an decision that would affect the people that really care. So I don't want to be that person just picking someone just because voting is the right thing to do. By the time the next election comes around I would be well aware of whats going on in Connecticut. I have a son now so I want to make sure he gets the best that is out there.

Good and Bad Websites

I use to look at this all hip hop website called AllHipHop.com. I use to go there to get my up to date hip news in the music industry. Some of the writers use to work for well know magazines like Vibe and The Source. When you scroll across the toll bars you can easily navigate through the site. There is even an editorial page for knowing who wrote which articles. They also sometimes credit other sources if it didn't come from them. At one point and still probably til this day Allhiphop.com is the number one site in hip hop media gossip.
The unreliable source is a site called WorldStarhiphop.com. This site just caters to any bad gossip. The website is hard to navigate through. The people that run the site don't have an official contact page or even editorial page. The workers of the site hides behind the computer with not a key person to blame for faulty rumors. At least with allhiphop.com they are well known editors from other magazines or sites. World Star also have garbage videos you can watch but they are mainly degrading type of material. People that visit this site are probably bored out of there mind and are looking for some form of  filthy entertainment.

Eternal Reflection

I've been in school for over a month. I can say coming up with idea come natural to me when writting an essay. I'm also taking a grammar class with the 084 English class. I already noticed changes in my writing but its coming slow. I need to work on my grammer and proof reading. I need to proof read something for like an hour. It takes that long for me to notice my mistakes. In my grammar class we came up with these corrective action work sheets. So basically as time goes on I should get better at my writing and proof reading. I will follow up on this journal a month from now.

Journ#4 Into the New Midterm

        As an returning student for over thirteen years, I could say I feel good about my school accomplishments so far. In my math class for two hours a day I study at home and work on the latest assignments. On my first day of class the Math problems all came back to me. I guess the math section was well rested in my brain thriving to be woken up.
        In my English class I'm getting a lot better at writing papers. There's still a lot of work on my end. I just started my Grammar Writing class this week. We went over our strengths and weaknesses when it comes to grammar. It was good knowing that others had the same problems like me. Taking the English and Grammar classes together should help me out. I can't wait for the end of the year to see how my writing has changed.
       Working and going to school are still conflicting with my life, but I plan on not giving up. I have to stay up on my school work at all times. I made the mistake in going to a kids birthday party big mistake. Going out made me a day behind in my school work. I'm glad that I've choosen three classes, because anything more than that would be stressful. School is going along great for now.

My Virtual Life

       There are two things I like doing while going online listening to music, and looking up information in the  Nuclear field. I used to never like going online until I started working at Columbia University. I use to work around the clock, and alone in a lab for hours.Then one day I wanted to listen to some music online. I found this station that played underground Neo Soul music in Dallas,Texas. Surprisingly I didn't know Dallas had a underground scene. That station linked me to other underground station on the internet with the same type of music. Certain shows would have other radio guest on there show. I would jot down their information and look their station up. I found out that Columbia University has a station as well called WKCR 89.9. I listen to their station when I get off work at 2am. I would also continue listening at home online depending on the guest. After llistening to that show in the morning 6 hours later I'm catching up on another show from Atlanta Georgia. Georgia Tech radio 99.1 WRECK Room Renaissance. They air online Thursday night but I'm at work doing those times. I have a total off six good underground station I listen to online from Friday to Saturday. SSaturday has one the best shows 88.1 online Toronto. I get to listen to the best of old hip hop and the new underground artist. New York radio won't play the music I like becasue of ratings but soon the underground would be heard.
        While at Columbia University I started looking up the industry that I'm in. I just jump around on the internet looking up information on who got what grant for a new linear accelerator particle machine. What new products were made by research. It sounds boring but I get a kick out of finding new Cyclotrons machines, and learning the history of how the PET TRACE industry was created. My boss told me she has a brother who's an electrician at BrookHaven Laboratories in Long Island. So I looked them up and found out they birthed the industry that I'm in. They completed their research in 1982 and moved on to bigger things. I aslo ran into a couple of pictures of cyclotrons. If you ever seen one its very intimidating. I found the biggest cyclotron machine in Toronto called Titus. You can actually go there for tours as well. This company in Sweden called CERN are trying to create the Black Hole again......look it up.
      I really don't do much on the internet. When I get home I just play music, and sometimes watch a movie. Now I'm back in school I use it now for essay research. It feels good not going to the library anymore.

Journal Entry 2, Music Videos

Do music videos affect the way I feel about particular songs? If I like a particular song, I judge the video seperately. I perfer the director of the video to direct the video along the concept, or context of the song. Sometimes I invision a video for a song in my head before it comes out. So when the video finally comes out, I see if it matches along the same concepts that I invision. If the director totally loses me with his director's cut then it hold no weight on how I view the song. It would just be that's a great song but the video sucks.So again I just hope the song, and the video matches together like a marriage.
